Amd FX-8370

I recently bought a new cpu, the 8370 and overclocked it to 4.3 and was wondering how much volts i should keep it at, and also my computer keeps getting BSOD im guessing from wrong volts and help on how to fix

You can "underclock" and "undervolt" your FX 8370 to run at the same clockspeeds and voltages as a FX 8370E (95W) using AMD Overdrive to adjust both of the Turbos, Turbo voltages, base clock and base voltage. That will allow it to run within the specs of your current 95W motherboard but it will only run like a FX 8370E not a full FX 8370. The E means it's low power and it has a lower clockspeed.

It's right down at the bottom of Vishera section so you may need to scroll down a little.

It lists all the clocks and voltages, for base, lower turbo and upper turbo as well as low power states. You will be able to clone the base, lower and upper turbo clocks and voltages onto your FX 8370 using AMD Overdrive. However you may not be able to clone the lower power state settings but that's probably ok as it's probably only for power efficiency.

As for being able to run stock (safely) or overclock you need a new motherboard.

ASRock is winning value as you can see. Other people also make good motherboards though.

You also need to look at how long you intend to keep it if 1 1/2 - 2 years you'd probably be best off to buy a 990FX board + HSF overclock it and call it a day.

Ps, 990FX boards should be rated for 140w keep an eye on that if you do buy one because some aren't.

Also I forgot to ask what CPU cooler you are using. If you are just using the stock cooler then you should for sure buy a better one. Overclocking takes a good cooler to prevent overheating.

On a side note the 212evo goes on moderate sales regularly for $25. http://pcpartpicker.com/list/9RwYcf like that.

Like the review says the wraith is for moderate overclock but 60c to me seems too high.

Right you get the wraith cooler stock with the FX 8370. Ya ok that's actually a fairly good cooler. Good for a small overclock even I think.
