How much power for 2 rx480s

I have one rx480 and want to get another on but i dont know if my psu can hold up

Pc specs:
intel i5 6600k @4.3ghz
16gb ddr4 ram
1 rx 480 @ 1335mhz
700w aerocool psu
1 tb hdd
2 led 120mm fan
1 120mm fan

I would like to overclock both cards and room to upgrade to an i7 cpu but i worried that my psu isnt up to the job.

Well, you really need a new PSU for this job.

~750-850W are more than enough; it just has to be better than your actual psu. Whats your budget for the psu?

Of course there are low tier PSUs from those manufactures. I was agreeing with you on changing out the 700w aerocool psu.

A single card can beat 2 cards in certain games the 1080 for 600$ can beat 2 rx 480s not overclocked. If you overclock the two cards then you may have a poor mans 1080

You want to get a single 1080, not 2 480s. Sell your current 480 and just get the 1080 instead. Single card is always better.

I wouldn't say it is a "world beating monster" but believe what you want.

Then, you will see that the RX 480 performs up to 50% faster than a 1060 using Vulkan, or very close to the performance of a 1080.

The performance numbers using DX12 are a bit less impressive, but again the 480 surpasses the 1060 by a significant margin.

Given that DX12 and Vulkan are being used to develop the vast majority of future games, DX11 benchmarks induce a very significant error in purchasing decisions.

This isn't like the evolutionray progression from DX10 to DX11. DX12 and Vulkan arer revolutionary: We are moving from high level APIs to low level, entirely different beasts.

Only a very little amount judged by a benchmark on a system that the processor and other components would not bottleneck as much. Why say as much? Technically there can never be no bottlenecking ever.

if you do want to go up to a crossfire rx 480 i'd say its a good idea for right now due to the fact that amd is updating there drivers and improving multi-gpu and also games who have the affinity vr engine work really well with the multi gpu once the affinity games come out :P your choice but i'd recommend just getting a single gpu or waiting for vega and volta vega might come out with something like the r9 295x but better and actually afforable for mainstream XDDD

Where i live 1080s cost 650 pound which is the same as 815 dollars. I have 1 rx480 so i would only need to spend 270 dollars to get close to a 1080
