Why holding on to an 80GB HDD; those are from like 2001-2002
What is the 80GB even for? That's like 2 games right there.
Not sure how things are in Greece; but maybe catch some good pricing deals around the upcoming Holidays. Do they not have cheap 1080p HDTV that would do the job until u get nicer Monitor perhaps?
So,the GTX 1060 it is then.
The 3GB version is at 245 euros,while the 6GB is at 295.
Are 6GB really that needed? Also,if anyone knows,is there a difference between the original GTX 1060 and the Mini ITX version?
I'd suggest one like this:

Wait, you're not using a VGA connection are you?
Newer GPUs do not support that. Has to be Digital; DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort
In face,I use a DVI-I to VGA adaptor and all is well :)
Newer AMD RX 400 series and NVIDIA 1000 series will not support that.
The Monitor has to be DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort.
VGA can't be a factor for connection type; it won't work.
If you want to continue using VGA; then you'll have to use an older GPU; such as GTX 950 / 960 / 970
That can be ANY GPU out there. If it does that, Return to Seller/Retailer or RMA it through the branded support; simple as that.
rx470 4gb card for 200 or less; and get a 1080p monitor.
happy gaming
He's in Greece; what is a $200 USD GPU in USA is around 300+ Euros over there.
Can you go here:
http://pcpartpicker.com/search/?cc=us&q=gtx+1060+6gb
then in the upper-right, choose a Country that uses Euro and let me know which of those countries (for Euro only) is closest to pricing in Greece.
Otherwise:
http://geizhals.eu/gigabyte-geforce-gtx-1060-6gb-windforce-oc-6g-gv-n1060wf2oc-6gd-a1490297.html
Or generally plenty of models to chose from:
http://geizhals.eu/?fs=gtx+1060&in=
But seriously, a 1060 is complete overkill for your current resolution. A 1060/6 would be really nice though if you intend your display anytime soon.
All I want is High-Ultra at 60 fps on 1280x1024..:(
If that is all you have; then you need to avoid newer GPUs such as:
AMD RX 400 series or NVIDIA GTX 1000 series; VGA can't work on them.
Not via a simple DVI-to-VGA adapter.
The reason those adapters work on older GPUs; is because those older GPUs usually have 2x DVI (1x Digital and 1x Digital & Analog); or 1x DVI that supports both Digital & Analog; DVI ports supporting the Analog conversion in the GPU is why a DVI-to-VGA adapter alone can work for VGA displays.
The newer GPUs; their DVI is Digital Only.
For 1280x1024; a GTX 950 or 960 of basically any model; would do just fine.
