UNSOLVED - Windows 10 Can't Identify Foreign Languages
Some of the songs I have that are written, let's say in Latin, the foreign letters are applied as "?". Is there a way to fix this? It wasn't like this on my old PC, let alone Windows 7.

Not a program. Simply just going to the propeties of the track files of my music and the foreign letters are applied "?".

Should be fixed by installing a language pack.

Do I need to install other languages, though? I just want the problem to be fixed, if that installing will fix the problem and recognize foreign letters?

Yes installing a language pack of that language should fix it.
Use the "Add a language to this machine" option in Windows (Just type "language" in the search bar and you will find it).

Don't forget to reboot your PC once the installation is done.

Got it! Be back in about a minute (cause SSDs, DOE!).

Yeah... it doesn't work. I downloaded the language pack, restarted, nothing happened.

Do I need to actually get the Spanish/Latin language and download the language pack for that language?

i think language packs are supported only in windows 10 pro and NOT windows 10 home.

windows 10 home can only support 1 language, if i am not mistaken vs pro that can handle more than two as part of its feature.

Hmm no, that's only if you have; "Windows 10 Single Language" or if you have the
Win10 that is distributed within China, which is tailed for China region.

Home or Pro makes no difference, all users have the ability to download, apply and have fonts for those supported languages, per the available packs.

Again though, this does not mean that all fonts within all files (like say; the properties of an MP3 file) will always be correct.

Again there are two basic ways Language Packs works; Read & Write.
Write = your ability to apply the language to the entire OS and use it via Input Devices, such as what language your Keyboard outputs in, THIS does require Professional OS Edition or higher.

Read = your ability to simply display other languages correctly and have proper fonts and such within your OS, which otherwise does not have that language and/or font. Home Edition can do this, since this is a basic function. Similar to how something like "Word Viewer" so one has the ability to proper read word document files someone made with Microsoft Office (Word); but not needing to install the full Office suite just to read a Word file.

I have Windows 7 Home Premium right now. If I upgrade to Windows 10 Home, will I be able to change the language of the OS?

you will need to install the Windows 10 Pro Pack ($99) using Add Features (Windows key + X > Control Panel) if you want to change languages.

I bought Windows 7 without knowing that I couldn't change its language from Norwegian to English. And its one of the thing I really want to be able to do in Windows 10.

Can I choose a different language during the upgrade?
Cross language upgrades are not supported, the free upgrade will be installed in your local language.

You will need install a language pack for English after setup is complete if you are upgraded to Windows 10 Pro or if its Windows 10 Home you will need to install the Windows 10 Pro Pack ($99) using Add Features (Windows key + X > Control Panel) then download the English Language Pack.

Also, will I be able to upgrade the Windows 10 Home edition to the Pro edition? Or more specifically, will I be able to do that in Norway through the Windows Store, or something like that? I'm asking because the Windows Anytime Upgrade has never been available here in Norway for some reason.

I never quote that person, or the info.
So what are you suggesting?
i am not suggesting anything.

i'm confused actually because you said windows 10 home can handle additional language pack and that person on microsoft says paid upgrade is needed to be able to install language pack.

you two can't both be correct, right?
That is in reference to changing the OS language.
Has nothing to do with language packs (read other languages)
ok, ty for the clarification.
So why it still won't recognize foreign letters? Should I download the "Handwriting" too?
Where is this data at? Where you say "the foreign letters are applied as ?"
Can you share screenshots.
The app has to be able to use that language, not all can.
