Oh it's very true seeing as I have both a 4K monitor and a 144hz monitor.
144hz desktop rocks, but it rocks in games too, I soon notice when DOOM drops from 100fps to 55fps, and that's without even looking at the fps counter.
144hz gaming is the future.
These kind of posts make us look like elitists, so hush. Saying PC will always be more powerful is like comparing a Ford Mustang to a Fiat Punto and bragging that your Mustang is faster...it's pretty obvious.
A PC is only as powerful as the hardware you give it. With the new beefed up consoles, I reckon at least 50% of people with gaming PCs won't be annihilating consoles anytime soon.
Ideally you would want at least a Nvidia GTX 1080 or better. That's just for 60Hz. To get the max 144Hz, either SLI or Nvidia Volta (yet to be released).
XBox One X runs Forza native 4K 60fps locked max graphics equivalent based on preliminary tests and does 4K checkerboard in games like Assassin's Creed, Anthem and other games.
Checkerboard rendering can provide IQ near indistinguishable from native 4K, from personal experience using a LG OLED 4K TV and PS4 Pro.
4K 144fps in games might be attainable readily with videocards 1-2 years down the line
Like I said, I own both. I know the difference between 60hz and 144hz and it's "insignificant".
Jealousy is a disease
That is your opinion.
Your opinion could be said the same about cars.
Anything above 200hp is not need for daily driving.
But, anything more is better, regardless of what you believe is necessary.
I've seen you on here and it is clear that you believe your opinion to be whole truth, and nothing short of it. I think you need to learn to seperate opinion and fact.
This just reinforces my point. You have clearly put yourself on top of a high horse.
Reality is waiting when that horse bucks.
