So much BS. A monitor even 4K is no where near the cost of a high end Gaming PC. Not even half of it.
Besides who talks about running 4K at 100fps? Not that it going to be more easily in future beside the fact that most ppl don't replace the monitor befor 10 years... Mostly ppl stick with their monitor for far longer.
Depends. Regular 4k monitors are not expensive at all. But im sure fancy 4K HDR gaming monitors will be VERY expensive. Like for example the upcoming ASUS PG27UQ, 27inch, 4k, 144hz with HDR and g-sync. I plan to buy one, but i read some rumors saying it will cost >£2000. My top end gaming pc didnt cost anywhere near that much...
HDR does not only come with 144Hz nor with G-Sync. And gaming monitor doesn't mean you need 144Hz nor G-Sync either. Many ppl have AMD cards that can't even use G-Sync.
Same I been reading the same rumors as well, and seeing how HDR just bring the cost of thing up a little, I can see this being a problem with Gsync as well, when compare to freesync, especially getting 144hz.
HDR has less to do with darkness but the advantage lies in the lighting. You can have a city at night for example where everywhere it is deep black but the light, star and the moon are actually glowing. Giving you much realistic color and lighting effects. Enough examples on the web.
HDR has nothing to do with 4K nor G-Sync nor 144Hz.
You can get HDR for lower resolution too. For 60Hz and 50Hz and don't need G-Sync at all as AMD FreeSync monitors cans have it too as well as every ordinary screen like a TV either.
The same thing, but in 1440p, is around 1000usd. And its not even near 8.3 million pixels
If we talk about 4K + HDR (which we need when comparing to TV's as no TV has true 144Hz nor G-Sync) then we far below that. Then we are in a category of 500-600€...So 4K monitors + HDR does not need to be expensive.
no for HDR 4K you dont need 144Hz. and when comparing against TV's you dont compare with 144Hz...
I said id rather build a whole new pc than buy a 4k hdr 144hz monitor.
Since when was i comparing it to tvs?
look at the topic title...
