Acer Nitro 5 Getting Very Hot
So I recently bought an Acer Nitro 5, and ever since I turned the CPU to maximum power, It has reached temperatures as high as 85 degrees Celsius even with the fans on max. I suspect this is because i maximized the power of my CPU's but I dont want to turn them back down because then my laptop will not perform as well. Any suggestions on what I should do to keep the temp down?

More power means more heat.
Laptop cooler or turn it back down.

85 is nothing to worry about. If temps constantly go over 90, then it's a problem.

It is normal.

I have Acer Nitro (Ryzen AN515-42).
Open Nitrosense and configure your fan setting.
I enable Coolboost with Max fan.

I think you guys first have to define normal. It kind if normal and abnormal at the same time. OP said it was ok at some default setting safe temp, but he max powered it and the heat generation came with it. So like for max power it is normal to be acting that hot, but might just be a choice the user will have to accept in order to have the performance. Can't have it both ways but I think he wants it both ways.

The laptop will get really hot depend on airflow. It should be on hard surface, not any soft surface. The desktop is much cooler since it is better airflow. There is no reason to be a concern since it is under 90 C.

Emoticorpse, please know that i appearance for your help.

Dude it’s common sense. You work in the tech field you should know this.

Well, Acer nitro comes with different configurations. As he recently bought it I would assume that he has i7-9750H. With that CPU temps will get higher in CPU heavy tasks.

PCB in a laptop is class 3, so it is able to withdraw up to 105C. 90 C and under should not be an issue. Also, a thermocouple isn't always accurate. So common sense is more like an opinion and agreed basis.

I don't know what to tell you, but I implore you not to make it worst.

I am a Acer Nitro Owner. 85C is actually a VERY VERY bad temp.
In fact, you shouldn’t be going on 80 on a laptop.
80 degree Celsius is known as the Danger Zone.
Once you reach that point, that’s when the throttle and wear and tear happen.
