PLEASE HELP:Thread Stuck In Device Driver
hey people who got clickbaited.....so as the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ title says i have a VERYY frustrating issue with my pc that came about on march 23rd 2020(i do keep track becuz of quarantine)..ik that thread stuck in device driver is soo common but i have literally tried EVERY SINGLEE FIX ON THE INTERNET and i will list them shortly...i know the source of the issue becuz when i disable my amd driver in safe mode the BSOD goes away and i also know why:because on march 20th i updated my drivers and i downloaded the new version of amd which is 2.2.1 or something and afterwards it said there was another update 2.3.1..it did not say it was optional so i downlaoded it and turns out its optional and the 2.2.1 is recommended and now i ll list the fixes:
1 restarting (duh)
2 did everyything in automatic repair but nothing worked
3 did a restore point to march 18th buuttt the issue makes it so when i try that it would bring me an error after WAITING 2 HOURS saying they couldnt restore becuz of a file or smth but one time i accidentally restored to march 25th and it worked so i guess i cant go back far
4 did that cmd prompt thing in automatic repair and did not work
5 tried installing another version like 17.7.1 from windows 8.1 but it was incompatible so could not do it
6 tried clean installing and installing amd catalyst 15.5.1 and crashed
overall its so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ frustrating i need help i will post this on reddit steam and lenovo and now i will put my specs:
Windows 10 64bit
Lenovo pc
AMD radeon R5 M330
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-5200U CPU @ 2.20GHz, 2201 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)

may i politely say that it is a joke and also its steam..like here is a demonstration:

Run Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) in safe mode to remove all drivers from your system, reboot, then install the last working driver (sounds like it was 20.2.2 from what you said). Then change the update setting in the Radeon Software Center so that it doesn't recommend optional updates.
I'd re-install/factory reset. The automatic repairs/system restores might have messed it up even further to where you might have to mess up what it did in addition to original problem. But if you still want to keep trying to fix it have you tried uninstalling the video drivers and letting windows install them and see how that goes or re-installing chipset drivers all together?
Wipe all the drivers using DDU app in safe mode. Reboot and install all latest drivers for mobo chipset, gpu, audio, lan, wifi, bt; etc. Reboot after each as needed and then retest the system stability using a benchmark like unigine heaven, 3dmark, etc....

i have re installed the drivers via the device manager...the amd site windows update and an app called driver booster that updates drivers

Thats not how you install drivers, typically.

When you download them they have a setup or install exe, run that via the RUN AS ADMIN option. Reboot after each driver install completes.

The reason to wipe drivers in safe mode is because it might not be able to remove everything while in normal mode because some drivers use running services that can't be terminated or removed while in normal mode. Safe mode ensures full removal due to the fact no drivers or such services are running in this mode.

You don't need any Internet connection in safe mode because all we're doing is wiping the drivers, not doing any downloading or installing while in safe mode.

It's best to go download all latest drivers for each device from the maker first. These can be stored on your Win10 usb flash drive if you lack an extra backup drive at the moment.

The only time a driver may need to be installed via Device manager is when it lacks a setup or install exe. Which is sometimes the case with some wired or wireless lan drivers. If that happens to be the case, simply extract driver to "c:/drivers/device name" then in device manager, uninstall the device you are about to update, such as the wifi adapter for example. Once uninstalled, click scan for new devicdevices at the top. If Windows installs a older driver on its own, fine, let it complete that. When done you can then go to properties for the device, click update, then get to where it says let me choose and browse, then point to the folder where you extracted the driver package you downloaded.

For all other drivers if they have a setup/install exe, install by running that program.
