Is it safe and possible to take a monitor apart to clean stuff stuck inside the screen?
I got some dust inside my monitor and I was wondering if it is possible to take it apart to clean it out? Because some people are saying it’s the only way to do it but it could be dangerous at the same time.

As long as it's modern and not plugged in, I don't see why not.

If you're talking about old CRTs though, those you need to be really careful with, because if they aren't discharged, they can actually kill you.

It’s an AOC 27B1H 27" Full HD 1920x1080 Monitor, 3-Sided Frameless, IPS Panel, HDMI/VGA, Flicker-free
Yeah, back in the day, A+ certification classes were pretty clear about dealing with big CRT displays.

Should be fine to take it apart as long as it's not plugged in. Different technology, different risk severity.

Just be careful not to damage any wires or the screen, because you can brick the monitor if you break a cable or the screen.

Of course you must unplug it and it’s an LCD monitor.
Just to make it clear by stuff inside I’m talking about inside the screen.
if its a crt throw it away and get a new lcd (led backlit) display

they can be easily taken apart to clean, do not pull out the lcd panel, but take off the back cover to clean the main/power/tcon boards, some have them combined in 1)

Yes it is an LCD but that’s how you clean the inside of the screen?
taking a led display apart is not for beginners
can be done if careful, lcd panels use thin ribbon cables and ribbon edge jumpers around them,
if torn or stretched the panel is destroyed

wipe down the inside reflective panel with windex or water based cleaner
along with and filtering layers and lcd panel when re-assembling (be sure to re-assemble the filtering layers correctly)

Sounds good, thanks.
You sure it's debris inside and not just dead pixels? Unless you're lcd is behind gorilla glass or plexiglass some how, standard lcd without such layer can't get stuff on the inside of the screen as it would be sealed from allowing outside debris in. Now it is possible (however un-likely) that a tiny bug can make its way inside and be within an area you can't get to.

Well idk if it’s a dead pixel cuz from far view it looks like a pixel but when I look at it closer like camera, it is nowhere shaped like a square pixel. And I can see some dust near the inside of the PC as well. Here is a picture of it. Look inside the cursor you’ll see it. https://linustechtips.com/main/uploads/monthly_2020_03/0463C0B7-38F7-4CAA-A88E-E5DB4EEDCE81.png.71b2f1162abaf0d76679cbf597745ebc.png

it may be a bad led, dead pixels were pretty much eliminated when led backlit displays became common

edit: that looks like a dead subpixel

if the display is new, contact aoc for a rma or return/exchange at the store you purchased it

I will because I only had this monitor for like 3 months now. I asked some other people if it was a pixel and they said it is not it's dust. I saw actual pictures similar to mine and the subpixels looked more like squares but not like mine. And I even saw a bit of dust around the sides of my PC. And when I put the cursor over it sometimes it kinda looks transparent. So Idk for sure.
