You can get HDMI extension male to female and leave just the extension cable connected to GPU.
Alright so the thing is, I bought a graphic tablet to draw on it. Its not a monitor, yet it has to connect to a HDMI slot because it has a screen.
Problem is, my GPU only has 1 HDMI slot, which is used by the HTC Vive's link box.
So my question was, can I just unplug the HMD- HMDI cable from the link box and instead plug the tablet, and have the signal working well on the tablet's screen?
If not, Can i have a 1 HMDI to 2HMDI cable on the only slot I have on my GPU so I can connect both the linkbox and the tablet?
Hope i explained myself better now
thanks for your help!
Oh true i forgot, the linkbox has a displayport slot too!
Still i dont know much about that, will it lose any quality or something similar if i do that?
Or just get a DisplayPort cable. No reason for a DisplayPort to HDMI. Run DisplayPort from your GPU to the link box( it's actually mini DP on the link box.). I run my Vive with DisplayPort and run HDMI to my monitor for mirroring.
DisplayPort is better than HDMI so no you won't lose any quality.
It will work! ...as long as you power the linkbox with the included adaptor.
Connecting the HMD can be a bit glitchy, requiring a restart for SteamVR to find the HMD and Basestations... However, it's still way more pleasant than constantly crawling under my desk.
The linkbox also passes the USB through, so you can also connect the tablet's USB output this way.
