EDIT: Most of my components are over 5 years old, but as I said, I have to clean my machine almost constantly.
You can clean most of the computer with soap and water... Fans can be replaced... Unfortunately, the human lung is not so easily cleaned or replaced.
What.
The fan draws in the smoke onto it's internal components. This by itself doesn't affect them much.
However, tar builds up and dust therefore sticks a lot more. Dust ends up clogging up over time and is harder to remove. Therefore the fans become less effective and heat buildup occurs.
Therefore you should get a can of compressed air and clean out the dust more regularly. Even wipe down areas such as the fan blades while the system is turned off.
Try avoid smoking near the system, where the airflow is directed to the intake fans.
Hahaha, you got to be seriously silly. I like why he says the comments are disabled. Nice cleaning of the stickers too, you would think soapy water would of removed those, but like magic cleaned them!
You do know there is Arsenic in the chips in the PC so maybe? secondhand smoke in combo with chip toxins exhaulled by the PC & re-smoked by you should give you a more self preservation perspective than old PC components caked with tar.
Yup. As long as it is dry before turning it on. Water doesn't magically ruin hardware.
If it is dry before running electricity through it again... Then there isn't anything to cause the short.
There are so many ions in regular tap water. Talk about corrosion, even if fully dried, it's damaging in the long term.
Also, using dishwashing soap and a dishwasher is just suicide for the small components, washed off and damaged by the water pressure.
Never said dishwasher.
To have components be so dirty that soap and water is needed... I mean, it's either clean it or leave it all gunked up. Longevity is not much of a concern at that point.
