Overclocking monitor
Hi, I have currently have a 2070 super and I'm running an Acer predator xb241h monitor. With this GPU I do hit high frame rates and the monitor is able to overclock to 180. Would it be a safe bet to just do an overclock to 160 so there is less heat etc. Or should I just keep to 144?

I would just limit FPS to 144. Whenever your FPS is below the refresh rate, it'll always look less than 100% smooth.

Depends what Fps you are getting, i have a 240 Acer Predator Monitor but i use Nvidia control panel to lock Fps to Whatever the average is for that game, you can do it per game, if you right click on windows and click Nvidia control panel, then click on Manage 3d settings, then choose program, and turn max frame rate on and set to average for each individual game, that way your gameplay should almost always be smooth as you could wish for and it will also keep your system and monitor overworking pushing our Frames you don't need.

I am assuming your Monitor is G-sync here.

Yes the monitor is G-Sync and that's no a bad idea, I might do that for games that I get high fps on. and for other demanding games ill just keep it to 144hz.

Out of the box supported refresh rate - They validated it works by testing it, if it wouldn't meet it, they'd drop the panel to some other model.
Enable it, enjoy it.

Enable G-sync, enable the overclock, and then use RTSS to individually limit the games to the average FPS you get, or ~3 FPS below your refresh rate (if you get that far) to prevent your display from jumping in and out of g-sync supported ranges.

And then enjoy playing games.
