If you don’t have adaptive sync, anything under 144 fps will look bad. On top of that, since you’ve now seen what double the frame rate looks like, 60 fps will always look choppy to you.

Then the smart thing would be to undo the driver update and go back to the ones used before the issue.

then it's always been an issue and you've just not noticed... that's why I only play 1080p on a TITAN RTX so that I can manage all 144 frames.

Unless HZ/FPS=integer value, you're not going to get smooth experience, as some of the frames will be shown once, some - twice, etc. Try either limiting to 72fps if your PC can reach 72, or reducing the refresh rate to 120 or 60 if possible.

DDU in safe mode, install the latest notebook driver and go from there
If that doesnt help, lower the graphics some. It is a laptop afterall.

Terrible laptop... that's about all there is to it.

1050 Ti isn't even close to good enough for 144hz

adaptive does not work that way
it toggles vsync on/off
on when at or above refresh rate, off when below
if it cant keep the fps at or above 144 it will never be on

set the display to 120hz to get even interger of hz/fps

i can't set it 120 only 144 and 60 hertz
_I_ Apr 6, 2020 @ 8:12pm

Sajj Apr 6, 2020 @ 8:19pm
when i set it to 60 lot of screen tearing and stuttering

You may find more help in the ARMA 3 forum. Lot of players there have this game, and know it inside and out.

There could be some system tray program taking control of your GPU. You should check that, if such a potential program doesn't overwrite any setting in-game. Aside from that, I really don't know, because I don't have that title.

Try setting the desktop to 60hz and then try the game in borderless windowed mode

Arma3 is just poor as are all the Bohemia games. It's never going to run smooth

Turn on Vsync in game or try using adaptive sync in the NVIDIA CP
Change graphic settings in game accordingly
Should help with the tearing
