Freesync via DP to HDMI works on HDMI Freesync Monitor?

i'm looking for upgrade from Sapphire Rx570 4GB to Sapphire 5600 xt
currently i'm using : LG 23MP68VQ-P 23" which is HDMI Freesync Monitor.
(no DP port on this monitor)

i want to know if
1.will Freesync works via Ugreen DP-to-HDMI converter.
(The Sapphire 5600 xt come with 1HDMI and 3DP -i do need that one HDMI port for WMR-VR headset. )

FreeSync is available over HDMI, it's not limited to DisplayPort, so adapting DP to HDMI will still work.

thanks gotta try this. just remembered that there's DP to HDMI adapter snuck somewhere.

tested, and i think it is not working
system detect monitor as 60hz monitor and screen-tearing is present.
gotta switch back to hdmi :(. a bit of hassle but no problem.

(i'm pretty sure that DP-HDMI converter is a passive one since it cheap.)

did you force enable freesync in the gpu control panel?

yes. forced freesync on via AMD software
and limited FPS via in-game and AMD-software and RIvaTuner 60fps (with in Freesync Monitor support range).

screen tearing occured.

did you use ddu to wipe drivers when swapping gpus?

no. i use adrenalin driver and clean install it via the driver.

switched back to HDMI port it work fine though.
