AIO installation problem
I'm trying to help my cousin install his AIO, but the system seems to not be recognizing it. He's able to get into UEFI/BIOS, and it says that the pump is running at 4200 rpm, and that the CPU is at 33 degrees, but the lights on the pump aren't coming on, and we can't hear any bubbles flowing through the system. We also keep getting an error code that says that the CPU fan isn't on. Can anyone help me figure out what's going on?

plug the pump into the pump header or use a molex/sata power adapter so the pump is running at full speed all of the time
then put the aio rad fans on the cpu fan header

What is the AIO you are installing?

Also RGB lighting is usually powered via sata/molex power connector or internal usb header on mobo.

He's using a Corsair H100i Platinum. There a USB connection, and a sata connection. Is one of them more important than the other?

USB is used to connect to iCUE. Without that connection, you can't customise the RGB lighting and it will be stuck on RGB Puke Mode.

I used to have the H115i RGB Platinum, I think it still requires SATA for powering the LED, but USB is for customising that and also controlling the AIO functionality in general. The CPU_FAN connector is only there to tell the system that there is a cooler, it serves no other function so you can't actually control the pump in BIOS. The RGB Platinum coolers REQUIRE iCUE for 100% functionality.

If CPU_FAN is not detected, then it's probably not plugged in correctly or at all.
