Pc won't turn on but motherboard lights up
I need help, my pc was working perfectly fine until one day I pressed the on button and it just didn't turn on. The motherboard lights are on meaning that the power is reaching fine, but it just doesn't turn on. I thought it was the power supply as it was very old so I bought a new one and installed it, but the same thing happens

Any beeps? Is a speaker connected? Most will use beeps to tell the problem. There may be error lights too. Check you manual.

Is it possibly a bad switch? Can you jump the connectors on the board and see if it boots?

Read the manual. If it will give beeps then attach a speaker.

What motherboard and cpu?

Try to disconnect the power button from the motherboard and short the power pins with screwdriver or whatever metal-ish you have around, even a fork would to. There is a chance the button on the case is dead, which is not a big deal.
Also try removing all the memory sticks and put them one by one, in different slots as well, trying to launch PC in every possible memory configuration. The issue you have was already how one of my memory slots died, single channel since then.

Or the button is stuck, forcing the power to stay off.

I don't have any spare components or an extra pc to test them, but both the motherboard and the cpu are quite new I only bought them about 2 months ago

No.... what model of motherboard and cpu are you using, is the question.

You never listed your pc specs, so we can't help otherwise.
