Windows temp profile?
Hello gamers so I just want help regarding my laptop. So what I did before recieving this error was I cut (yes ctrl+x) my profile folder into my hard drive. Now when I logged back in today i pasted my profile folder back to the users folder, yes I have my desktop icons back, documents, etc. But my windows display settings weren't there anymore (my wallpaper, folder color, etc.). It is still saying that I'm in a temp profile and yes i checked it in the users folder and there was a Temp folder. My nvidia control panel isn't showing up when I right click in my desktop and my amd radeon settings lite isn't working when i open that too. Sorry for the wrong grammar I'm filipino ;).

You really goofed up.

Make a new user account in the OS with Admin rights.

Once created, log off current and into the new. Once in the new, copy, not move... files you need from the old user to the new.

When you are sure you are done, go to Users in Settings and delete the old user account.

Dont worry about os settings or wallpaper you can easily set all that under the new user.

Btw should I delete my user? When I turn on the laptop it is there
Run regedit, got to:

Computer \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ Windows NT\ CurrentVersion\ ProfileList

You will see the list of profile names.
Find the two profiles with the same name.
One of those should end with .bak.
Note that the key with .bak at the end is your correct, personalized profile.
You are currently logged into a new profile with the same key. As such, you have to rename the two files. Add “_new” (no quotes) at the end of the key for the temporary profile.
After that, remove the .bak from the correct profile key.

Once you’ve completed the previous step, you can now log off from the temporary profile.
Restart your computer and log in to your correct profile.

Yes, you can do it from the temp profile, you will see a list like this:

S-1-5-21-1082191972-4235669629-3471117189-1001

If you click on one, in the right hand windows, it will show you the username of that profile with the key "ProfileImagePath"

Don't do anything with your sisters profile key, just follow the steps above for your profile..
