Win10 is not just an OS that updates. If there is a build update, that is a whole new OS.
(I installed win10 when free period time just to activate it once with win7 code)
Multiple PCs = yes
At the same time = no
It's for ONE PC
how do you put it on a new pc if your mobo and/or hdd has died? how will the os on the usb know your pc has died and then alllow you to put the os on a new pc? is there a way of deactivating it to reactivate it?
And why do you have just one drive? And why is a HDD?
It sounds like you should wipe the drive and start over anyways.
If you're going do one drive, then do two Partitions, one for the OS and one for Games.
For example; just 1x 1TB HDD w/ OS
Then when you install OS, you can click Advanced and do Partitions.
like 100GB for OS, the rest as a 2nd Partition where you can install your Games, download your files, etc. If you ever need to wipe your OS, you can wipe just that OS partition and leave the others alone, meaning your games and such would remain.
partitions are anoyying af. i removed the partition on my old laptop since it was stupid. my laptop had 1tb aswell. as why i knew everything would fit on this one. the thing is back then i nvr new it was usable space i do now but i dont like partitions atm. im getting a new hdd very soon! and yes ik how the partitions work when installing the os. when i get the new hdd i might combine it to my current one so it acts as 1 hdd just like a raid does.
First of all, the OEMs usually screw up drives when they partition them, cause they do it wrong and put a bunch of crap on them.
Anyways, it's simple and it'll save you down the road.
Having one drive and everything you have on one partition is really bad idea all-around.
Cause then if the OS is un-bootable, you may have to wipe out that entire drive.
Anyways, no offence. I'm just laying out a prime example.
and what my laptop has to do with this. it was my gate way to heaven. you asked why i have 1 hdd answer is i could not afford it and my laptop explains how i got my pc in the first place. it died i went from a laptop at 10fps to a wopping 100fps in most of my games on ultra. will be getting a job very soon then be upgrading my stuff.
Upgrade list:
1 4tb hdd, 1 ssd (a 400gb pci express version powered by intel!)
2 new 27" 4k G-Sync 144hz flat screen monitors by asus.
monitor stand.
boom arm for a mic.
mic.
new cpu.
new cooler.
new ram.
new mobo.
new fans.
With something like SATA, that gives ease of usage; as you can plug that into basically any machine if needed, even via USB.
Ones like Samsung 850 Evo or Crucial MX300 series are all very good.
