whats a good graphics upgrade for my pc?
Just a quick question about my PC capabilities, I have just purchased what I think is a decent starter gaming PC for my son with this spec - AMD A8 7650K Quad Core @ 4.00GHz, Radeon R7, 8GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM, 1TB Hard Drive, MSI A68HM Grenade - i want to get him some games to go with. 1. Is it a capable PC and 2. Will it run CS:GO ok? what is a good graphics upgrade for this pc too? thanks in advance for your help guys an gals

1) Not really. I would return it and buy something else that already has a GPU preinstalled, so you don't have to go through the trouble. Look for at least an i3-6100 and GTX 1050Ti or RX 460, avoid AMD CPUs.

What's your budget for a PC?

2) It should run CSGO, but they shouldn't be selling such a thing in this day and age tagged as a gaming PC. Its an office PC being sold as gaming.

That is a decent pc but it can be better for less money. Just dig around the internet to see some prices of an i7 or an nvidia 980, they arent alot of money to be honest.

You would have been better off with an fx6300/8300 if you wanted to stay with amd or an i3 6100 from intel if the budget was tight.

x4 Athlons show poorly ^ on the most part.

Ps, to answer your question stick with an NVidia gpu on amd cpus gtx1050ti or even the gtx1060 3GB.

AMD CPUs are getting replaced by Zen in beginning of next year so I would not buy any of their current CPUs.
I would send this rig back and find something with i3-6100 and GTX 1050 Ti or if you can afford it i5-6500 and GTX 1060 6 Gb version, this would play all latest games fine on 1920x1080 monitor.

its not a great pc there are better options.. But as far as cs:go goes it will have no problem with that with a video card
