How much would that reduce the lifetime, and how much of a difference in terms of fps would that make?
Overclocking your GPU won't make a massive difference, but potentially enough to be worth it. Voltage itself should be left around, only raise the power and temp limit to the maximum in MSI Afterburner.
Start with memory clock, going up by 5 MHz at a time while running Heaven benchmark. You'll see graphical glitches when you reach the limit, where you'd want to town it back down 5~10 MHz. Then reset settings and do it all over again with the core clock, and then reset when you find the stable limit. Finally, run both clocks at the values that worked and run heaven again, watching for glitches. If it works, you're basically in the clear, but if there's glitches, you'd want to tone down the clocks 5MHz at a time until it's stable.
If it crashes, don't worry, as it's really hard to fry a GPU when you only raise power limit and not the actual voltage. You can raise voltage if you wanted higher clocks, but it will diminish the lifespan of the card by a fair margin.
Just know that overclocking a 1050 Ti will not yield amazing results in new releases as it's still a budget card, and inadequate airflow to the card will mean it can run much hotter, which is where most of the lifespan reduction happens.
