Is GeForce Experience Good?
I’m not sure if I need it or not, only because of the notifications of driver update and the shadowplay?
Does it affect my gaming performance?

it can be handy for easy driver updates and gameplay recording but it can sometimes mess up game performance when the "optimal" settings are used. just leave that part alone and use in game settings. some will tell you it's spyware which in absolute nonsense.. don't listen to them..

you need to decide if you want to be told when a new driver is available

do you record gameplay?

GE is not needed at all but it can be useful.
Its fine. Never had any problems.
And it doesnt effect performance at all.
Geforce Experience is spyware. It collects telemetry on you and forces you to login to use it. This fact is for me more then enough reason not to use it.

If you need a screen recorder you can use OBS. You can manually update the drivers every now and then, or start annoying Nvidia and ask for them to update their driver control panel to include a updater like AMD does.

Many do, and I avoid pretty much all of them.

"Everyone does it so it's fine"
No that doesn't make it fine..

Thanks for the answer, I will consider it.

Hmm. Seems like a good idea.
Thank you for your answer.
I doubt that experienced gamers use it much. Most select their settings based on personal preferences, the capability of their system and knowledge of the individual game's graphic effects. For many popular games there are in-depth articles, even on nvidia's own website, that describe how good a particular graphics effect is and the impact on fps performance.

ACO example -
https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2018/10/05/assassins-creed-odyssey-pc-graphics-performance-how-to-get-the-best-settings/

OBS works well.
It causes problems with the system if your playing and Gforce decides it has a new driver.
Sometimes constantly trying to update stuff like 3D-VR stuff.
Many times this forced drivers have not been fully tested.
Nvidia now requires you be a member .
It used to be a great tool now I wouldn't use it.
I have no problems with my drivers which I can download manually.
Unless you want to buy newer games all the time the optimized drivers for those games are wasted on your system.
When drivers work no need to update them until a new game requires that optimized version.

i agree with this 100%. while i do have it installed i don't actually use it other than to be reminded of available drivers even tho i typically ignore them for a while.

This and shadowplay.

As long as it doesn't bring me to the desktop mid-game whenever there's a new driver update
No it's actually not good.
was better when it didn't require an account

It's not about knowing where I am. I have websites hosted from my home network, it should take you a few minutes to figure out exactly where I live. Who I am and where I live is public, I am a person and I have a name, there is no point in hiding this. It's about these companies which are datamining everything, you can be pretty sure Nvidia is selling this crap again to Google, Facebook etc.. And they force you to login for no reason so they can link the data they mine to a person. These companies go to extremes to do targeted advertising, they are straight up stalking you.

If I cared about my location being hidden I would run a VPN, which I am not.

The Steam site/client runs Google analytics and collects some fairly harmless data on hardware (I am not talking about the public survey) and game statistics which they use themselfs. Google Analytics is blocked at DNS level on my network.

My phone isn't connected to the internet and doesn't have Google apps installed. I never even carry it with me and rarely use it anyway, when I am outside I want to be away from technology and not be bothered.

I have "ghosted" myself from datamining a lot already. My PC even runs exclusively FOSS (Free and Open Source) software with the only exceptions being for Steam, games, microcode and codecs.
