Even though the FX-8350 is somewhat capable of gaming (if you have a compatible motherboard VRM wise), it still was lacking behind other CPU's when it was new. Now a few years later they are massively outperformed even by budget CPU's
What GPU plus how much ram have you got?
Ps,
FX8350 does just fine in Apex Legend ^.
if the mobo is 7xx or 8xx chipset do not put fx in it
fx needs a 970-990fx board to run any better than pii
Define extended 1 month - 48 months??? Ya sure there are total trash mobos but that spans various cpus not limited to FX, hmmmm I wonder what happened to ECS speaking of trash.
970 and 990fx are the only chipsets designed for fx cpus
there are more than fx 125w cpus
fx4-6 are under 100w
if by extended use you mean overclocking 125+w cpus you are correct
not all 970-990fx boards are capable of running or overclocking 125w cpus
amd mobo list here

Only 970 motherboards that were worth a damn were the Gigabyte 970 Ud3P and the Asus 970 Pro Gaming Aura. Both are hard to find these days. Nowadays you might find some cheap 970 boards and maybe some REALLY old 760 boards - but these boards are still in inventory because they were ♥♥♥♥ and no one bought them back in the day.
And good luck trying to find a 990 board. Those were generally built better but even if you find one, the cost simply isn't worth it.
But the list ^ seems a skew, I see GA 970 D3 ver 1.0 claiming 140w however the actual gigabyte site clearly says 95w for FX but goes on to claim PII 125w-140w any how my point being that the list is a bit of a gong show.
