Beeping sounds when changing to dvi-d
I usually use dvi-i but when i tested my dvi-d on my gtx960 it starts making beeping sounds on startup with no display. btw, i use a dvi-d to vga adapter on my vga cord.
When i plug my second moniter in the hdmi, the pc recognizes it via nvidia control panel (i can change the resolution and stuff) but it has no actual display
My graphics card's slots are dvi-d, dvi i, hdmi and displayport
This is because i want to add a second moniter. Is it because the dvi-d slot is broken?

It's not broken. DVI-D only transmits a digital signal. VGA is analog. You'd need a converter, not just an adapter.
Get something less ancient that can use something that is not VGA.

look at the adapter, if it uses the 4 pins around the - pin, its analog (dvi-a - vga adapter)

there are cheap dp to vga converters that will work

He already has. He just needs to get the proper cables.

@op, don't make two threads on the same issue.
