Is the Intel Core i9 9900k compatible with the ASUS H170 Pro Gaming motherboard?

No, it's not.

Your Motherboard is a Gen 1/Version 1; LGA 1151 of the current Intel CPUs. The newest/mentioned CPU requires a Gen 2/Version 2 Motherboard; LGA 1151V2.

The minimum is a B350 Motherboard in order to operate the CPU.

Nope, you need a Z390 motherboard.

B360 and Z370 will also work if the BIOS is updated. B360 of course lacks the ability to overclock.

Don't skimp on a quality motherboard, especially with these $500 CPUs.
