Fell asleep with game running for 9 hours - is that bad for computer?
Is it bad for my computer if I leave a game running for 9 hours while I sleep? The game isn't too demanding on my system.

No not at all, you can run p95 for days and gaming would not put that same stress on the cpu.

Can be, but depends. Normally it will be fine.

Running a system for hours is normally okay, so long the fans/heatsinks are clear of dust and working, it will keep the temperature down.

The monitor however, if left on a static image (not moving) can get screen burn. This depends on what type of monitor you are using. However, you would notice this by a ghost image left behind on the screen when viewing other things. If you don't notice this or it fades away, then that's fine too.

It's fine. Just takes 9 hours off the life of the components, which is negligible.

well ive had games open for more then a day on my system without issues, as long as the cpu temps aren't high, like at 90c or greater for that long then you should be fine.

if its a newer build, it will throttle at 90-100c and still be ok

worst damage at those temps would be to electrolytic caps in the psu

lol, i have one that has been running for 6 years, apart from the odd issue, maint and upgrades.

It's not good. Let it rest if you can. That's why they have sleep mode.

Doesn't mean your hdd won't start clicking a day earlier now (if applicable)

PC parts are made to run at x temps and x thousands of hours 9hrs is nothing idling in a game.

The worst case scenario is if the monitor doesn't shut off and you burn a game menu into it.

Its not bad for the PC, but your power bill may reflect the additional usage, though it shouldnt be an issue.
