7700k overclock
hello guys, i just OC’ed my 7700k through BIOS and changed its core speed from 42 to 45 and also changed intels turbo boosting to 47 so i can achieve 4700MHz under load. My question is that when i open task manager it shows my CPU speed as its stock (4.20GHz) why it shows like that ?
PS my voltage is 1.230 currently at 4.7GHz.

Turbo boost only kicks in when CPU is under heavy load.

Dont use task manager, download CPU-Z and it'll say on there.

I've just checked task manager and is has no problems showing actual clock, only it doesn't update info as often as CPU-Z does.

You dont need to chamge core speed just change the Turbo Boost speed.

Dont bother with task manager. Even if it shows actual clock you cant see if all threads reach max clock Use Hwmonitor and run Prime95. It'll only take a second of Prime using any test for you to see all threads reach max speed, 4700 Mhz.

So you say i should turn core speed back to normal, which is 4200mhz and just increase the Turbo boosting right ? that counts as overclock?

Yes, with stepspeed it'll downclock to 800mhz and upclock to the turbo clock so there really is no need for changing the core clock. As it changes between 800 and turbo clock anyway.

i see 800MHz on internet while the cpu is idle, mine stays 1590mhz when its on 0% usage ? why its that
