Steam library on external SSD with thunderbolt 3
Just got myself a laptop for work that should be reasonable for gaming too but storage is going to be an issue somewhere down the line.
It has thunderbolt 3, if I run a SSD in an external enclosure, how badly will that effect performance. Obviously loading times will suffer but with thunderbolt 3 is it possible to minimize the drop more than before?
Thanks for any help in advance 😁

TB3 is rated for up to 5GB/s while most SATA SSDs run at around 500 MB/s, so it's unlikely to be an issue at all as long as the cable is good. Might be a little drop with PCI-E 3.0 ones, as "rated up to" is just that, but should handle even those in theory.
