Help buying CPU Cooler.
I have the AMD FX 8350 with a stock cooler. I am wanting to get a new cooler as the current is rather loud. I have no idea where to start, I have seen many coolers well within my budget but am not sure if they are good or not.

What would you recommend for the FX 8350?
My budget is £50

Thanks in advance!

Although the fan colour of the Noctua NH-U12S may not be for everyone's taste, the cooler itself as a package is top quality and super silent. I'm using one in my pc and it is one of the best when it comes to cooling capacity and noise (which is practically non existent).

with fx, keep some airflow over the vrms on the board
with tower coolers you can often mount the fan as low as possible to help cool the vrms also

Go with cryorig.

~ 48 british coins.

The 212evo or cryorig h7 should be in the budget and they do well enough.

Eh heck, yeah the h7 is also worth a look.
It's ~ 35-40 or so.
I have a Cryorig H7 and it's pretty great. Affordable, easy to install, what's not to like? It's basically a better 212 Evo.

Even the cryorig m9 would work well, AFAIK it performs better than the 212 and is most always cheaper. The 212 was good a few years back but since cryorig came on the scene have not bought one in a long time.

I would buy Scythe Fuma(120mm dual tower). https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B016XLGATE/?tag=pcp0f-21

As already pointed here - VRMs can get pretty hot with FX, so the mobo model might also help. If VRMs got no heatsinks or those are low profile ones it might actually make sense to look into top-down coolers. FX-8350 is definitely a thing to overclock these days.

When I had my old FX8350 I replaced the stock cooler with the EVO 212 - It was easy to fit and pretty darn silent.

Tbh, if the mobo has no hs on the vrms the FX8350 had no business being installed on that kind of a mobo any way.

Back on topic ^ most 120mm tower coolers are quite sufficient to overclock an FX8350 .

I still use the antique Tuniq Tower 120 on one of my FX8350s and the older CM212+ on the other, the more recent Cryorig H7 is well priced and will do AM4 down the road there's no need to over think the HSF.
