You can pickup Asus Aorus Pro for ~$90, R5 2600 for $160 (use the stock cooler, I didnt and it was a waste), 16 GB of 3000 ram for $150 and that 1060. Rest you can get what you will, but those alone are ~$500 and you can squeeze the PSU/Case for $100
Here is a cheap rig outside of the GPU

Just remember, you will have to move your storage over and have to buy win 10 with the new mobo.
It is a micro atx mobo, but most people won't sli and don't need all those bells and whistles... plus, it fits nicely in a midtower.

And considering the price RX 580 is definitely a better choice.
Wait for Ryzen 2 it's so close maybe late spring/ early summer at the very least it'll drive down the current ryzen pricing.
I really don't see any games that suffer so much that they're uplayable so try to wait it out.
OP could wait for that, but the Ryzen 2 platform will still use AM4. Buying the 2600 now wouldn't really be a huge loss at $160 and you can upgrade to the new platform during Black Friday if you want.
The 1050 and 960 shouldn't be much different. I've used both and couldn't really tell a difference in performance or graphics. The 960 probably has a little more brute-force, but the 1050 is much more efficient and has more driver optimizations. The end processing result is probably about the same.
The GTX1050 chews through e-sport titles quite easily.
I didn't see what display you are using, but if it's exotic with a high refresh, you'll want something like a GTX1060. But if it's 1080p 60Hz then a 1050 is plenty.
The lowest GPU I would buy is the GTX1050 3GB, but for that price maybe you can find RX570.
