I would go for GTX 1060 6 GB or RX 580 8GB though if you can afford them, will last you longer and they are currently pretty cheap because of new RTX 2060 that rivals GTX 1070 Ti performance for $350.
But even with 3GB the 1060 is still better.

It is in every way except VRAM buffer, because as long as a game is not exceeding the limit then it will always outperform the 1050 Ti by a fair bit. VRAM isn't the most important part of the card, and more VRAM does not equate to more performance, as we'll likely see when the Radeon VII releases, as it's supposed to have a 16GB HBM2 memory buffer but only expected to match the 2080 8GB.
