Lol, I didn't change it and Im not an computer egineerer. My pre builder did it for me.
It's DEL on my X470 AORUS, F2 goes to a different part of the BIOS on it.
There is only 1 Bios. You can enter with both in most boards by all manufacturer.
Download the BIOS zip file and follow the instructions. It's easy to do and you will need to get into the UEFI to update it. Gigabyte has easy to follow steps.
If you insist on doing it through the software then try re-installing the software.
Also, why do you need to update the BIOS? It's not something you should do "just because." If your system is stable and the update doesn't resolve a specific issue you are having it's best to leave it alone.
There are plenty of reasons to update the BIOS, especially for current generation chipsets, one of the most important reasons for AMD chipsets being AGESA updates which improve stability and support for faster RAM (as AMD boards tend to be behind Intel boards when it comes to memory speed support), and also performance improvements for later released processors. Maybe if you're using Intel there's not a huge point because they basically force you to buy all new boards just to upgrade your CPU.
The risk of bricking your board is low when you know what you're doing, and even that is not hard to figure out, and a lot of flashing programs will warn you of the risks.
Lol I just got told to update everything by Aorus support.
And they're right. Don't listen to the chickens that are too afraid to take care of their components.
every modern board (means every Aorus Board as Aorus is new prduct line of gigabyte was befor G1 Gamign line up) has at least dual bios. So the chancec of bricking your board is pretty much non existing. you can recover it on your own if needed. You could also just send it back to Gigabyte and they do it for you and will send you back the baord.
Besides you dont need to go into Bios as you could simply use Q-Flash. You dont even need a CPU or Ram installed to update BIOS that way.
