Then look up the Asus motherboard model on Google go to the official page for it and get the pdf manual

Use CPU-Z and check under SPD the Slots. It will tell you supported speeds in the Timings Table and give you the Part Number of each individual DIMM, which you can lookup online.

Don't even need to look up the ram, CPUZ should tell you the xmp profile in the list there where it shows the frequency, timing, voltage, etc

That only works if it is Bufferred ECC type RAM. If it is unbuffered non-ecc, it’s going to read out as the minimum DDR4-speed the motherboard can use in spite of the rating on the RAM.

@OP, you’ll probably have to check the bios’s advanced settings and set the timings manually if XMP is unavailable to use.

Hmm no, it should show 4 listing of commonly supported specs that the installed ram supports

If your RAM doesn't have a XMP profile you can't enable XMP in BIOS anyway.

If your motherboard doesn't support memory "overclocking" you won't have the XMP option either.

Specs would be helpfull. Use CPU-z validation and share the URL.

Open up the BIOS check under the overclocking tab, it takes 1 minute.
No overclocking tab? = No XMP
No XMP profiles to choose from/XMP greyed out? = No XMP

Best bet is list your specs...
Cpu
Motherboard
Ram

Models of each

SPD has nothing to do with ECC. SPD only does not work when the DIMM went so cheap to not have an EEPROM installed that holds the information.

What DDR3? What motherboard?

However. AMD doesn't use XMP it uses AMP. ASUS motherboards have a translator to translate XMP to AMP which is called DOCP.

PS: why you need XMP? It is wasted for DDR3 which is a dead platform espacially a weak APU.

he has a fm2 apu and board

odds are it will not support xmp/spd profiles
you will need to manually put in the ram speed/timings/voltage in bios

first look up the specs in cpuz spd tab
look at the fastest profile, write down the values, speed(freq x2), cas lat(cl),... voltage
and enter them in bios

its for an fps boost on fortnite. Apparently without (XMP/AMP) enabled you dont get the full performance of your system

with a dedicated gpu, its still the apus performance holding it back not ram speed/timings
