SSD won't fit my case's 'designated' slots
I have a Cosair 200R case. It's supposed support up to 4 SSDs, but it really doesn't if you have a massive GPU like I do.

So my alternative is the designated HDD cage, but it came with no brackets for me to place an SSD into it.

Any alternatives to installing this bad boy? I would like to place it into the HDD area, however, I have no clue what bracket size I would be wanting to buy.

You can get a 3.5" to 2.5" adapter. A simple metal bracket which will fit inside of the HDD bay like a normal HDD.

SSD does not need to be mounted. You could use double sided sticky tape/velco to stick it inside the HDD Bay/side of case.

You can stick it pretty much anywhere since it doesnt have any moving parts.

A friend of my didn't want to spend extra money on his old case ... So we just zip-tied his SSD to an available bay.

Agree!

just grab some duct tape, tape it to some metal part of ur case. problem solved. it dont gots to be pretty, because it's hidden i hope. if not, then get some adapter as said by someone else.

Any specific tape that I should use? My temps reach quite high so I don't want the tape to become obsolete after I launch a demanding game

use double sided foam tape and stick them to the back of the mobo tray or side of the hdd cages

something that can be cleaned off easily and still have good stickyness

Duct tape is a good insulator. SSD's are good at generating heat. Don't put the two together. Unless you roll up the duct tape to make it double sided, so it only covers a small piece.

i wasnt being serious lol.

Heck just hook it up and let hang in the HDD bays. It's light enough that it won't damage the cables.

yeah, that could work. I've had to do that once in this case before I figured out how the SSD installs in my specific case after I read the manual.

If you're going to make jokes that can result in damaged hardware, you'd better damn well add a spoiler saying "don't actually do this!" or a j/k. Unless of course you're willing to pay for replacements...

Or you were serious and are just trying to save face now... Which I find rather more likely.

Thats why case descriptions says supports "up to". If all GPUs were smaller then case descriptions would say supports x but as GPUs can be larger you have the option to use a Larger GPU and sacrifice drive locations.

As for ways to fit a 2.5" drive into your cases 3.5" location
A basic, cheap, drive bay convertor.

Or if you want to fit a 2.5" or 3.5" drive into a 5.25" bay a basic, cheap, 5.25" drive bay convertor. I have 2 almost identical Akasa versions of this converter in my NZXT case.
