If you don’t have a HDD then do not install it.
Most cases I've seen you don't actually need it for the function of the system but I don't think it would hurt to have the driver installed as you can take take it off from autostart/tray icon easily enough anyway without impacting perforrmance.
It could be system, configuration specific as to why it's hard to find a conclusive answer. If your system manufacturer recommends it then worth it to have it there as part of your driver set IMO
it was made for when ssds were tiny and expensive, ~32-64g, and used to cache commonly used data on the hdd
now you can just buy a ssd large enough for the os and a few games
128g+ are dirt cheap and more than enough for windows with updates and a few games
RST is used to cache the most commonly used files on a hdd to an ssd to increase speed of access as stated by _I_ above. I would think that these would mostly be files from the os drive as its the most commonly accessed, as the os drive is already an ssd i do not think you would see any benefit, rather you would see the opposite in the loss of space to a cache that is not needed.
