How do i OverClock my Dual GTX 960s in SLI with EVGA Precision?
I hope i'm not cheating, because this involves software, but i use EVGA Precision to control my fans and haven't found a better way to do so, using EVGA GTX 960s in SLI.

Anyone have Experience in Overclocking with GTX 9XX Series and Overclocking?

I think i need to over-volt, because i lock up at stock voltage using 100+ Offset.

I could really use help here, my CPU isn't the greatest but it's definitely a GPU issue i am facing, where Hitman (2016) won't counter 60 FPS on my setup..

Core i3 8300 Quad-Core @3.7Ghz
ASUS ROG Strix Z370-E Mainborad
16GB G.Skill TridentZ 400oMHz RAM
2X GTX 4GB GDDR5 FTW Gaming SLI

i turned my graphics down to medium in Hitman , but still freeze on load when overclocking, i know very little about how voltage correlates to adding Mhz to the Card.

Plz Help!

Do you have an i3 8100, 8300 or 8350k? The i3 1300 does not exist. I myself would think both the CPU and GPUs are the issue here, HITMAN is a demanding title.

It's best to leave the voltage alone unless you want to do a serious overclock. You can play safely with all settings except for the voltage.

If the drivers crash or your game freezes you need to either lower the clockspeeds or increase the voltage. Keep playing around with it until you find something which is stable.

It's easier to overclock with a benchmark running in the background in windowed mode. Try Heaven or Superposition. Just run a stress test in the background and start looking for a stable overclock

8100, sorry about that.

And even a mild overclock of the offsets in EVGA Precision freeze my system, anything over 80 MHz. i tried over-volting but it freezes still, and i dson't want to mess with it unless i know what im doing.

So ii came here.

The problem you'll run into is that even if you have two identical cards (same make/model), you may find that one of them doesn't overclock worth a dang and the other one overclocks well. This was my situation way back when I had two 8800 GTS 512MB cards. One just wouldn't OC at all, the other took 100+MHz on the core and memory. I couldn't run an OC on them when in SLI because one just wouldn't take an OC.

I currently have two 980Ti AMP! Omega cards. One I can just crank on the memory speeds and decent core speed and she runs without issues. The other one, I can push the core up a good amount, but the memory doesn't OC as good as the other card.

Out of your two cards, you should ideally find the best OC on them individually (test one card at a time in the computer). Once you know the limits of both cards, you can set the best OC the lowest card can handle.

I did the same on my last set of GPUs before my 980Ti cards. I had two GTX 570s, they both overclocked very high, but one could take an extra 50MHz or so on the core and memory. Once I knew the max OC on both cards, I could set MSI Afterburner to run the highest OC of the lowest overclock card.

Tbh, overclocking sli isn't that effective due to the efficiency of using 2 cards some games use sli very well into %90+ on the 2nd card but a lot of the time it varies as low as %25-%50.

If you do get a stable OC you'll have 240w + worth of heat added to your case, so is the minimal OC bump on the GTX960s really worth it.

GTX 960 sli 240w vs GTX 1060 120w ^.

i didn't SLi by choice, i bought one card when it came out (actually a little after, on sale), and the second just 2 years ago for $220, so that is my justification for SLI... though i shouldn't have to justify myself when you just assume i think SLI is superior,, without even asking if i would want a GTX 1060, as if i have the cash lol. And i have an Antec TPQ 1200 Watt PSu so not much of a problem there, the 80+ Silver parabola will be fine. [EDIT] i suspect that video isn't completely accurate, as i noticed everything is Ultra on the games they tested, when you CANNOT Run Ultra on Rainbow Six Siege with GTX 960, even in SLI [EDIT]

This link gave me a good idea on how to overclock a 960, i did equal OC's on them, +85 GPU, +517 Memory, overvolt 6mV. HITMAN runs at 30-34FPS in "World of Tomorrow", in the ruins sniping the house terrace, where i only got about 23 FPS before.

Usually i get around 56-60 FPS is less intensive areas, and suspect with V-Sync ON it will be steady 60 for much of the game.
