Desktop Resolution and Active signal resolution
Hi, I just recieved a Samsung 4k tv for my birthday and have hooked it up to my pc. After setting everything up I noticed that the 'desktop resolution' under advanced display settings shows 3840x2160 (The resolution of the tv) but the 'Active signal resolution' is 4096x2160. Should these numbers be the same or is there nothing to worry about here?

If you are using an nvidia gpu go to nvidia control panel and change the resolution there to 3840x2160. Active resolution is done by gpu software whereas desktop resolution is os controlled. If you are using amd gpu use whatever control panel it uses to do the same as nvidia control panel

I'm not an expert in 4k stuff so forgive me if this doesn't help

Thanks for the help. I actually managed to solve my problem before reading this however. Resetting my nvidia control panel seemed to do the trick! Now both active and desktop show the same numbers
