Windows Defender Item Skipped During Scan
My computer was scanned last night and shot out two notifications: One saying no threats were found, and the second saying an item was skipped during scan because of exclusions or network scanning settings. I’ve never seen this notification before. I didn’t have any items placed as an exclusion and I couldn’t really find the “network scanning settings”. It’s totally unclear what is causing this notification to be sent. Any ideas?

An item was skipped over because there was an exclusion set either in firewall or in network. Nothing to really worry about anyway as long as you're not downloading from risky sources.
But why don't you have exclusions?

All your game clients and game libraries should just be excluded to avoid all the extra needless realtime scanning of those.

Bring up Defender and run a full scan. That should scan everything, even exclusions.

I tried that before. Some game acted strangely.
It can't affect your games.
The option is there to stop needless realtime scanning.

Just get malwarebytes premium and ditch Defender.

I don't download anything from risky sources. I've done full scans, custom, and malicious software tool scans. My computer isn't reading anything weird.
But that's with Defender.
Always use others.

MalwareBytes free edition
ESET Online AV Scanner
Hitman Pro
Trend Micro House Call free online av
I have Defender fully disabled, it sucks imo so id rather it didnt use any resources.
Anything is better than Defender
i think what you have is partial scan. the mode which most antivirus do.

in contrast to full system scan where everything is scanned
