Can my PC run Oculus Rift S?
I'm trying to see if my computer can handle games on the Oculus Rift S. Mostly interested in games like Job Simulator, Rick and Morty, VR chat, Beat Saber and Walking Dead Saints and Sinners. I Know my computer ain't the best. I just wanna know if it can run decently enough without getting motion Sickness until I can upgrade my Computer better.

Short answer: Your graphics card is bare minimum for the Oculus Rift S. It will run but not that well.

You think it will run decent enough until I can get better parts?

I'm asking cause HSN is having a sale with the oculus and wanted to snatch it up before it goes away.

The problem with VR is you really dont want to hover around minimum requirements.
VR headsets need a constant high framerate of 90 FPS (80 on Rift S) for EACH eye too make the VR world seem smooth.
Frame dips are terrible in VR and literally can make you so ill you want to puke.

I would recommend only getting VR with a system that is a good chunk above the minimum requirements, if possible close to recommended.

Or get a headset like the Oculus Quest that has its own hardware build in.
You can play VR without needing a extra pc, you dont need a cable connection and the Oculus store has many special versions of popular games for the quest.
They are graphically downgraded a bit but run well.

AND you can buy a cable for the Quest that connects to your PC like the Rift S and then use it just like any other VR headset on PC for games on Steam and such.

The best of both worlds.

HSN is out of Oculus quests. But I have considered it.

I have some good news. If my sister gets approved for her taxes in time she is going to buy me a better gaming PC. I would still need to save 430 for the Oculus Rift S when it becomes available again. But I need help on deciding on which pc is better for the Oculus Rift S and games like Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners. And Don't know if it helps but I can use parts from my old pc if needed.

If you know something better let me know my budget is $1000

My 2 choices are:

Honestly, both are not great for that money.
I would recommend going with a Ryzen CPU since they bring much more performance for money spend in comparison and upgrading that GPU to at least a RTX 2060 or similar.
With VR the GPU is a more important component then the CPU.

Also , DEFINITELY get a SSD instead of a normal HDD.
No newly bought/build PC in 2020 should have a old style HDD as the main storage device for the OS and games.

Dont get me wrong, the 1660Ti IS a nice upgrade to your old GTX 970 but with a 1000 bucks budget you could do better on the GPU front.

But the problem is Dell doesn't give me the option for Ryzen CPU. And I'm not too computer smart although I'm a fast learner with computers.

That and Dell is all I can afford. Cause of a sale going on.

look at how much more you can get for your money if you assemble it yourself

That's another problem I don't know how to put pc's together.

I am willing to learn but right now don't have time to.

But at the very least willl one of those still run Walking dead?

Yes, both of them will run Walking Dead VR.
But you will most likely have to set some graphic options lower to get a fluid performance.
The game recommends a GTX 1070 for best performance.
That card is a bit more powerful then the 1660/Ti you get with those 2 prebuild system.
If you HAVE to take one of those 2, then the DELL.
Has more RAM and a 1660Ti instead of just a normal 1660.
But take a look if they have a option to exchange the HDD for a SSD if possible.

And maybe look around if there are no other shops that offer prebuild systems in your region.
Because again, those are really not that great for the money asked.

I already checked my local shops. None seem to have any. But once I find time I'll learn how to upgrade on my own. And as for the alienware having 8GB ram I can increase that with my current pc's ram cause even though I don't know how to build a PC I've done ram before. But thank you everyone for your help and I tried to use a RTX Graphics card but it kept saying it requires a 460W Chassis Option. Please update your selections as needed. But there is no option to upgrade a Chassis. But anyways what's a good amount for an SSD.
