GDDR,GDDR2,GDDR3,GDDR4,GDDR5,GDDR6???

Hello i want to learn to understand what is the difference on these GDDR2,3,4,5 or 6 graphics card types..?
My graphics card is a MSI Geforce GTX 1070 8 GB OC with GDDR5.. on my motherboard (ASUS PRIME B250M-K).

If i wants a next new graphics card with GDRR6 can i use on this motherboard i have already used with a GDDR5 graphics card?

I hope you can tell me so i knowing what i have to do next time i buying new parts on my pc :)

g means its attached to the gpu and designed to work with whatever gpu its attached to

the mobo and dedicated gpu can use different ram types

Yeah true i know about that ram types with different but how can i know if my motherboard will use or run with GDDR6 if my graphics card is on GDDR5 and whould i chould use my motherboard with GDDR6? or i need new one before i can use GDDR6?

Motherboard's don't care about GDDR type. As long as you have a good PSU and a PCIE x16 slot you can use any GPU.

I made this question because i wants to get a more sick graphics card than my MSI GTX 1070 8 GB so i hear about these RTX 2060,2070 and 2080 is much better with fps and can i use with my 60 hz monitor asus? it's old one i know but i have also soon to buy a new monitor with higher than 60 hz

I would get a 144hz monitor. 1080p144=2060S 1440p60= 2070S 144p144=2080S+

I would get a 144hz monitor. 1080p144=2060S 1440p60= 2070S 144p144=2080S+

What brand was that you talking about? :)

most displays that are 1440p or 1080p 144+hz are good

1080p 144hz (3ms or lower) or better
or 1440p 60hz (5ms or lower) or better

make sure it has a dp input

the speed of the display panel, how long it takes pixels to change colors

more time changing = more time displaying incorrect color/image

1 sec / 60hz = 16ms to display each frame
1 sec / 144hz = 7ms to display each frame

under half time time displaying the correct image looks good enough without noticeable ghosting

Just grey to grey time, it's marketing, ignore it. Just make sure it's below 3ms.
