Would aim for GTX 1660 Super or 1660 Ti instead if you play newer games.

Only on medium settings 1080p.

With the looks of metro exodus and rdr2 the rx580 is struggling but games other than those two it does well at 1080p very high settings, not so much ultra though, future is anyone's guess.

The GTX 2060 super and rx5700/XT are the cards to target for 2020/21.

Not to go all Shredder on you, but I've played Metro Exodus just fine on my RX 470. CONTROL pushed my 470 much harder, despite the simpler visual aesthetic.

1660Ti is what I was considering for my next upgrade.

RX580 is very low end these days, 1660Ti or 2060 is the bare minimum one should buy.

Maybe that'll help ^ J Seed.

Rx 580 ^ ya it manages to keep above 40fps high settings but wouldn't you want the Rx 5700 instead.

Sure if $100-$150 is a max budget the Rx 580 is it but it would be better over all to skip the cluster of lower mid cards for an Rx 5700 to stretch into 2021 as J Seeds wants.

Ps I have both Rx 580 and GTX1070.

With new console generation around the corner it's hard to tell tbh. If game's won't drastically change in a nearest future - then it's a decent card.

Not really. RX580 can actually run RDR2 without too much issues. In fact, the game favor AMD hardware more than NVIDIA hardware. Probably due to console configuration using AMD hardware I guess.

RX 580 isn't a good choice nowaday. GTX 1650 Super is more powerful and less expensive.
Or you can wait for RX 5500. But there is no any reliable info about this card yet.
