Dumb question, but...
Did you install the GPU driver? If so, try reinstalling it again

If it comes down to it, download DDU and run it in Safe Mode to clear out current/previous graphic drivers then install the drivers again

What GPU is it?

It won’t let me download any drivers, it’s a 2060 I just built it today and the gpu works but nothing seems to detect it

If it wont let you install it Windows Update might be trying to

You have your monitor connected to the GPU? And it works?

Then it is detected in the device manager, but it might go under the name of "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter".

Install your drivers, then it will detect it as an Nvidia GPU. And as long as it works you shouldn't be looking at the Device Manager.

If the GPU doesn't work and you can't get an image out of it the card is dead or not installed correctly.

Go to device manager and update the driver from there. It'll be detected by windows, then go ahead and install the latest Nvidia driver. That's what I had to do to get windows to actually see my GPU. Before it was labeled as generic display adapter.

It should not be updated via device manager. It should be manually installed via Nvidia's website.

I installed the latest nvidia driver, and it tells me something in the lines of this system is not compatible or whatever and I don’t know what else to do GeForce experience won’t let me download it either
If you're seeing an exclamation mark in device manager, it could mean:

Hardware malfunction. Your graphics card is faulty, in which case you will need to get a replacement or try to fix it yourself.

Corrupt driver. Reinstall driver by using DDU.

Outdated driver. Update it.

I probably missed some things, but you get the idea...
It’s brand new though and it works properly the lights and fans of the card work when turned on

I don’t get why the gpu would be broken though I’m pretty sure I need the drivers cause I wasn’t able to download them fully

what mobo?
is there a bios update?

some very old board do not like the newer gpus

Does the card work at all? Make sure your monitor is connected to it. If it then does put an image on the screen the card works and you should reinstall Windows to rule out any software issue.

It doesn't matter what device manager says. It matters if the card actually works or not.
