Post a pic of the error you get, might be helpful

Did you connect the 6pin or 8pin PCI-E connectors to the GPU from the powersupply?

Didnt confuse the 8pin GPU connector for the one meant for the CPU? (unsure if that makes a difference)

While youve said youve built PCs before, are you absolutely sure the monitor is connected to the 2060 and not motherboard graphics?

On that subject
What CPU and Motherboard are you using?

Try GPU-Z. Share the information.

It sound like it could be a faulty card.
Contact the manufacturer and inform them of your issue.

Return the card to the seller.

I don't think you're doing something wrong. It's the card. Could you share which exact model you got?

“ unsure if that makes a difference”

It does. Pin outs are different. PCIe power cables uses 6+2 pins while CPU power cable uses 4+4 pins.

@OP: Where did you buy the card?

Sounds like u didn't use DDU correctly and change the options so it wipes everything.

Make sure you select safe mode, restart options also so the PC reboots into safe mode, where you will actually do the cleaning and disable the Windows driver feature to prevent Windows Updates stepping in and taking over for handling drivers.

Hi. Please review the date before you post. OP most likely already solved the problem or just gave up

Hi. I research for object and since I was talking about GPU issues I found this similar one not locked yet.
You might be right but the OP might have figured it out now in quarantine.
I noticed some time ago a egyptian OP which asked for a GPU upgrade but have been able to afford a low end gaming GPU only after 3 years (most egyptians live with 1 dollar per day) , so you'll never know...
