Weirdly High CPU temperature on gaming laptop with i5-8300h
I'm not even playing that demanding game. I played Minecraft and tf2 for test

My CPU temp will be like 87-98 and I thought it was really weird so I tried undervolting. But temp didn't change, so lastly I turned turboboost off (99% CPU)

After that, in all games except for tf2, I had like really big temperature decrease. Now I get like 60 degrees playing minecraft although fps got lower.

But in tf2, I still get like 95 degrees. Idk why it is like this.

I noticed when I play tf2, even with turbo boost off, I get 3.8 ghz which I think is boosted.

My laptop is pretty new so It can't be problem with me not cleaning my laptop.

Any help I will be thankful.

It's a laptop, so not surprising. Use HW Monitor to check temps, most other programs are inaccurate.

That's pretty normal, actually. All you can really do is use a cooling pad for your laptop to rest on, and clean out dust every 6 months.

What I found weird that even with turbo boost on and off, cpu temp is the same only on tf2. FPS is also the same. Why is it like this?

Bad cooling solution. I have a laptop that thermal throttles at boot, even with new paste and all boosting disabled.
It overheats because the cooler is just one heatpipe for CPU+GPU and a weak blower.

Never buy a laptop for gaming or 3d demanding apps if you know nothing about it, especially its cooling. Before you buy look up the laptop on notebookcheck.net and youtube

No, it is only in one game.

What I found weird is that for other people, turning turbo boost off will make their performance decrease slightly and temperature decrease slightly.

For me, fps dropped massively like from 200 to 130 and cpu temperature dropped massively (approx by 30 degrees)

And in tf2, fps and cpu temp is the same regardless of turbo boost. I noticed that frequency was 3.8 ghz even with turbo boost off on tf2, while on other games, it was locked max at 2.19 ghz.

I did buy it for about 2 years use, and I am not even playing demanding games and even when I play minecraft, I cap the max frame.

Also, that is not the answer for my question. :)

It doesn't matter, any game will pretty much do this on crappy laptops, due to crappy cooling that is linked across the cpu and gpu.

How new is it?

Well not much you can do to fix the issues. It's obviously terrible and isn't going to handle games well due to poor cooling.
