Poor processor performance ? i9-9900K
Hey guys,

I've ran a 3dMark and I've observed that my processor has a pretty low score.
https://www.3dmark.com/spy/9594570

I've ran this test in the context of a crappy framy CS:GO performance, like 180avg FPS.

After looking at the results, I start to think that my processor has issues... can you guys lend me a hand ? Not sure of I should RME this proc.

Running default BIOS settings (except for Intel Virtualization - using it for development).
No overclocking.

Make sure your RAM is in slot 1 and 3, and that you've enabled an XMP profile in your BIOS so it runs at 3600mhz.

I could be dumb, but it looks like the CPU cant hit its turbo as much as others. Is your cooling alright?

I thought 4.7 is the exact all-core turbo of i9-9900k.

Sorry for the late response, guys, so I've ran 2 tests after reinstalling windows.
Ran a user Benchmark
https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/22482138#PROCESSOR

Also 3dMark - TimeSpy
https://www.3dmark.com/spy/9601011

As far as I can see, gameplay wise, at least on CS:GO, I do get better frames, ran a benchmark workshop map, forgot it's name, got around 330FPS, which tbh, is still pretty low, considering this.

Not sure what to make out of the first benchmark, could it be related to the RAM ?
Gotta install HWMonitor and check my CPU's activity.

You have something up with your RAM.

Memory32,768 MBModule 116,384 MB G.Skill DDR4 @ 2,142 MHzModule 216,384 MB G.Skill DDR4 @ 2,142 MHz

It's running at only 2100mhz.

Not sure what this has to do with anything, this thread is about OP's RAM and CPU.

Did you buy ddr4 3600 ram?

From OP's userbenchmark yeah he did have 3600mhz RAM running at 2100.

Thanks for the tip, now everything runs smoother. Sorry for the late response, I didn't have much time to benchmark the whole thing, after reading your comment I've reinstalled Windows (hard-reset), applied XMP I and I do see a boost in overall performance.

The processor still doesn't go beyond 4.7/4.8, so I'm not entirely sure if the other guys that have done it made some overclocking.

No problem. Not all 9900k's can hit 4.9 and 5.0, it's all luck.

What is your motherboard?

Have you updated the BIOS and drivers (specially the chipset) to the latest version? This is quite important for the latest tech (CPU and RAM) to be fully supported. Some old BIOS and drivers will just be compatible and run it really slow otherwise.
