How to reset XInput drivers on Win 10?
I got Steam Controller yesterday and excited to try on Soulcalibur 6.
But it did not work, A&B buttons are swapped with X&Y buttons (or mixed with multiple buttons).

I switched back to other XInput controller I have been using long time, then I realized it does not work any more. In fact all XInput devices got wrong button mapping.

After a couple hours of troubleshooting (hardware, drivers, firmware, etc) I could not resolve this issue still. I've reinstalled Steam Client. Removed all HID devices from Device Manager and re-scanned.

Does any one know how to reset XInput drivers? Or somewhere I should check?

Disconnect it and then run IOBIT driver booster and go to tools, remove all unplugged devices. This will clear all registry entries for unplugged devices. This it will show up as new all over again when plugged in.

@Bad Motha,

Thank you very much for the tips.

I tried but it did not recover my issue.
I'd like to know if there is something I can try before reinstalling Win 10.
# I'm spending more than several hours for this troubleshooting :(

I did following.
1) Removed drivers from IOBIT driver booster
2) Uninstalled Steam Client manually
3) Deleted all registry entry name with "valve" and "steam"
4) Restarted Win 10 and re-installed steam client as latest.
5) Connected Logitech F310 controller as XInput mode

But the issue is still remained.
Buttons are mapped as following.
A -> Y + X
B -> X + B
X -> X + A
Y -> Y + B
I checked on Soulcalibur 6 and Tekken 7's controller setting page.
Both are same maker.
I was not sure the check other game for button checks.

Ok so just map the controller however you want.

@Bad Motha,

It got wrong mapping, but there's place to change.

But it got resolved after I reinstalled Win 10.
I really could not figure out other way.

It's probably good idea to clean install the very latest Win10 64bit build (current is 1909) every once in a while anyways. OS drive should be setup so wiping it out isn't an issue for you. But before you do, make sure to take the time to remake your Win10 usb flash drive using latest MS media creation tool to ensure you have the latest OS build on the usb for any install, repair purposes.

I got it to work by uninstalling xinput underneath human interface devices in the device manager. Then I resarted my computer and everything is back to normal. In my case, I was trying to make my new arcade sticks work as xbox controllers and it didn't work out that great.

For some one looking for the solution.
I've got root cause later.
"Windows Management Instrumentation" service required to be running.
I've disable the service without proper knowledge.
It might be not all the case, but I think it's better to check if you have this issue.
