LG C9 is not recognising 120hz.
I have a radeon 7 and I know that the max any current GPU support is 60hz at 4k but when I select 1440p it won't let me select anything other than 60hz.

Any help is appreciated :)

Link your monitor and gpu please.
Also which cable are you using, this is what usually will determine it all.

TV already linked to GPU and just brough a HDMI 2.1 which can support 8k if desired so surely should support 1440p 120hz. I am looking for the resolution and and refresh rate on the display settings should I do this within radeon settings where you can do custom resolutions.

Radeon 7 supports 4k at 60hz due to hdmi 2.0b.

For 4k @ 120hz requires hdmi 2.1 which is supported by the LG C9 as far as I am aware but will update post to confirm.

Thanks Kusa, but I already know there No GPU in the world supports HDMI 2.1 (so 4K 120hz) but it should be able to do 1440p 120hz.

Did not recognise profile name.

Did you get cable from Amazon?

4K TVs do not support above 60hz.
If it's a 120hz tv it must have hdmi 2.1

Right now as far as I'm aware, only gtx 16 series and rtx 20 series offers hdmi 2.1

Amd gpu aren't even good gaming gpus, let alone good for 4k anyways

Yes

It doesn't guarantee you'll be able to do 1440p/120hz on it.

Many 4K don't support 1440p

And yes there are gpus with hdmi 2.1, read post#6 above. For 1440p try a different hdmi port on the tv. Most TVs support certain specs on certain ports. Not always same specs on all ports.

Trust me the LG C9 does support 120hz at 1440p AND at 4k but no GPU support 120hz at 4k but the TV DOES support it.

What wrong with the salty comment at the end it can do 4k 60 or close to 60 dependant on game.

But you are also wrong. I said the facts in post#6

Refresh rate doesn't dictate FPS. The Radeon 7 cannot do 4K 60, unless you're playing old games.

With actual demanding games, you're going to need a 2080 Ti to have decent fps averages at 4K

1. Refresh rate doesn't dictate FPS - Agree but higher hz like monitors effect stuttering/tearing - gpu outputting more fps on a 60hz screen can result in tearing.

R7 can do 4k gaming but not all games

Agreed, 2080ti only card able to consistently achieve 60fps
Bad 💀 Motha 4 DIC 2019 a las 13:39
Well my gtx 780 6gb can do 4K also, what's your point?

No amd gpu out yet does 4K gaming well. You're going to playing in the 30 fps area
