AMD driver 20.2.2.
Is it worth it? I didn’t really want to go through trouble like some people did with previous drivers.

The latest optional driver fixes most of the black screen issues, may as well give it a try. You can always rollback.
For me it fixed every Black screen issue for now
5700xt
For me it wasnt worth it, never really had problems with black screen, but this driver makes the fan on my card go crazy..it randomly spins up to 3000 rpm during gaming then goes down in a second..never had this issue..temp is okay so the driver is the problem. Also in idle its at 700-900rpm for some reason and i cant make it go lower, before the lowest was 500.

Did it fix the driver crash and stuck over clock issues? I got RX 560X so the adrenaline 2020 messed up lot of things in my laptop and it’s pretty annoying.
Did it also fix Radeon Software App not opening at all? It just show the the app is running in task manager and its app isn’t showing anything. It’s just blank.

I just don’t want to go through pain and time of dduing, downloading driver, enable msi Afterburner amd compatibly, and wait even more for radeon to open.
For some reason, after restarting/shutting down my PC, my pc will be VERY slow for like the first 5 mins so sometime it won’t open until 5 mins and I’ll have to repeatedly spam. Thanks HDD.
if you don't want constant installing/reinstalling/uninstalling, then wait for community feedback regarding a new driver.
Currently using 20.2.2 with my 5700xt, first driver I used with the card (just got it last week), works great for me. It does get loud under load, but only 85C max so far. Glad I waited for the driver issues to be somewhat resolved before purchase, performs very well and no complaints (yet)...

AFAIK most problems can be resolved with a quick DDU run in safe mode and reinstalling whatever version you want to run especially with the recent radeon driver issues of late. Exactly what I did when I removed my 1070ti (to give to my son for his b-day) and the 5700xt install was flawless.

In those cases, even a cheap 120g A400 for $20 will be far worth the effort of a windows 10 reinstall on it.
Ill be testing it out once it hits the recommended status. Im currently playing through DOOM2016 though to pump myself a bit more for Eternal, and the release notes mention issues with DOOM, so I'll hold off for now.
For anyone with card that isn’t Rx 5000, do you have any weird downclock issues? I did. It’s running at max official speed (1275/1450) instead of the custom overclock I put (1435/1570).
Just stop updating drivers until something that needs it refuses to run due to a newer driver being the new minimum.

Eh. The adrenaline 2020 improves performance for RX 560X cards by at least 2-3 frames.
Then best bet is ddu wipe your drivers in safe mode and then try the newer drivers and give em a good test. You can always ddu wipe again and install an older driver if need be.

I’ll experiment with this driver. I’ll let you know if some issues still shows up.
Some will have issues, but not everyone. That's just how it is.
