some do osd overlay and cannot add it to 4k or higher than 60hz signals
That is how I currently have the system set up, but due to the way this LG tv decodes sound, even a direct bypass through arc hdmi/optical has sound latency - very irritating. Connecting to the reciever eliminates this latency, but has the limiting passthrough.
I contacted Yamaha support, and even their newest hdmi 2.1 model receivers still don't support 120hz @ any resolution.
This is still a niche' market I'm afraid, but that might change this year once receiver manufacturers catch up (hopefully).
