Headphone/headset recommendations?
Hello folks,

I'm deciding to treat myself for my birthday and I've just been using iPhone headphones for the longest time. I think it's time to upgrade.

Laptop specs:
Model: MSI GE63 Raider 8RE
GPU: Gtx 1060 6gb
CPU: i7-8750h
Ram: 16gb
Storage: 1tb HDD, 256gb SSD

Any recommendations for headsets/headphones under $200 that are of decent quality?
I'm curious as to what you folks use and would recommend.

Thank you and have a wonderful day.

I had to DIY my current headset since I wanted a semi-open back and none existed at the price point I wanted to pay...

Samson sr850 $34

Zalman zm-mic1 $7

Sound blaster play!3 $20

Zeos recomments Cooler Master MH751 but I don't like it all that much. I did like the BeyerDynamic DT990 though the treble was possibly a bit too much, no microphone there though.

Zeos thing the Sennheiser HD 280 Pro sounds good for a closed headphone but once again it lack microphone, test great on Inner fidelity. There's the HD 300 Pro which may be even better and sold for cheap sometimes here in Europe, that one actually exist as HDM 300 with microphone too. But open may be better.

Personally kinda interested in the Sennheiser HD 300 Pro myself as a closed not expensive pair if it can be around $100 here in Sweden again.
Ah those are $200 at least here in the US for the Sennheiser HD 300 Pro

Open headphones (wider sound stage, good for music too, no sound isolation): Beyerdynamic DT990 or Sennheiser HD6XX or Philips Fidelio X2HR

Closed headphones (narrower sound stage, better bass, sound isolation): Beyerdynamic DT700 or Audiotechnica ATH-M50X

Headset (convenience of built-in mic): Sennheiser PC37X

It's a bit below $200 in Sweden, may have been a German page selling it for €90, supposedly cost that around August and maybe a bit more before. Considering the Drop guy don't wanna sell their Drop THX Panda for the $320 at a large volume but rather sell for like $400 and then there's VAT on top of that too so at-least $500 there I kinda feel that for €100 vs $500 maybe I could live with cable and just ignore it. Maybe.

HD58X is cheaper than HD600, of course, also HE4XX and Sundara.

Personally I'm kinda interested in the closed ones for using outside and get rid of some road noise (and get easy robbery / assault victim.)

Audio Technica M40x/M50x. Very portable, the M40x's are very power efficient while the M50x's are more for computer use.

btw: i once had a beyerdynamic 660. the sound was superb, but it doesnt fit any head comfortably i think...all the beyerdynamic headphones. you have to know if you can use it as you like it. mine fell from my head and was destroyed. with akg you dont have that trouble imo. and they sound well also...just to mention

At 200$, Massdrop 6xx is unbeatable

^ same for the AKG 7XX, nothing against Senn I also prefer the bulletproof hingeless earcup design, and the red highlights make it quite a masterpiece...
