The fact that it does not boot basically means something is buggy, which is not surprising TBH.
For replacement you can either used paid tools like acronis, or you can try using basic tools clonezilla uses in any linux live cd manually. Not aware of any decent FOSS alternative to clonezilla...

CloneZilla still woks fine. The BluRay drive is bad or not supported for UEFI boot with the new mommy board. I made a bootable USB and that works. The BluRay drive shows up in the boot menu as only a normal CD, not a UEFI CD.
